What kind of crazy guitar IS that on the cover of SPACE SHIP ONE? It's an IBANEZ!! I bought it on ebay. I think it was made around 1965.

This is the photo that I saw on ebay. I couldn't pass up the chance to own this cool vintage Ibanez!

The guitars that I actually PLAYED on the record were my Ibanez PGM300 (modified with a fixed bridge like the new PGM301 model.)

The Ibanez AR3000 Artist model. This guitar has seriously THICK tone.

My Ibanez PGM800 model. (In front in the guitar rack) It's the natural-finish version of the PGM301. These were released in Japan in the late 90's.

My Ibanez PGM doubleneck. This was made at the last minute before a Mr. Big tour in the 90's. I found out that Billy Sheehan was bringing a doubleneck bass, so I wanted a doubleneck guitar to balance our look onstage. I needed the guitar to be made really quickly, so Ibanez just took two RG model guitars, cut them up, glued them together, and painted the whole thing white. The necks are just two normal 6 strings. I eventually decided to use the bottom neck as a "3 string" and I tuned the three strings in low, mid, and high octaves, allowing me to play some wild arpeggio licks that would be impossibe with a normal tuning.

A 1982 Ibanez Rocket Roll II. I found this one on ebay too. It's a total HEAVY METAL guitar in looks and sound. It inspired me to write the metal riffs in the new song "Interaction".

A 1976 Ibanez Deluxe 59'er model. I bought this one for a Led Zeppelin tribute concert I did last year. I wanted to have a Jimmy Page style guitar, but stay true to my favorite guitar brand... Ibanez!

A mint 12-string Ibanez Artist. It can be risky buying guitars on ebay, but I got really lucky with this one. It's in perfect conditon and adds a great sound to my new Japanese pop song "Boku No Atama".

It's a super high-quality history of Ibanez guitars. 300 pages of awesome photos, interviews with Steve Vai, George Benson, and lots of other Ibanez endorsers (including me!), and the amazing story of how a Japanese book store in 1908 became one of the coolest and most important guitar companies in the world.
